Pupils at Rogate CofE Primary School dressed up and prepared their suitcases for an evacuation as part of their Second World War topic.

Some of the children were able to bring in real artefacts from the period, such as ration cards and call-up papers, which created some fascinating discussions.

Christine Ward, year five/six class teacher, said: “We staged an air raid during the morning which led to some brilliant writing. It was good to see how the children entered into character.”
