This gamble is far too great

They must have known the possibility of this total melt-down at the time of the election and yet Mr Cameron was willing to risk everything by offering us a referendum in exchange for a few votes at the last general election.
Mr Cameron should have had the moral courage to tell us straight that such a crucial decision could not be left to chance.

If we believe Cameron’s predictions, then this is the Mother and Father of all decisions; the gravest we will ever make because our very lives will depend upon the outcome.
If Mr Cameron truly believes exit from the EU will ultimately lead to our downfall, then he is morally bound and has no alternative but to cancel this referendum for the good of the country.
The gamble he is taking with our lives is far too great.
