Leading historian Lord Briggs of Lewes dies aged 94

Lord Asa Briggs, 'an extraordinary man' who worked at Bletchley Park and was a founding father of the University of Sussex, has passed away at his Lewes home aged 94.

Lord Briggs of Lewes, an eminent historian and pioneer of adult education, died peacefully at home yesterday (Tuesday, March 15), leaving behind a wife, Susan, two sons, two daughters, and 14 grandchildren.
