The Y Centre in St Paul’s Road, St Leonards, has been nominated as the collection hub for locally-based charities who want to sign up for weekly deliveries of free food.
Education Futures Trust’s Chief Executive Carole Dixon and Y Chair Judith Monk were on hand last week to collect their first delivery. Fareshare accepts food donated by supermarkets and manufacturers and arranges to redistribute it to charities to deliver low cost meals or food parcels to people in need. It is hoped other local charities will join up now that a hub and delivery round has been established.
