Burning the Clocks to hold fundraising after-party

The Burning the Clocks celebration is run by charity Same Sky each year, and sees around 2,000 people parade through the city with lanterns, before a bonfire and firework display on the beach. This year, an after-party will take place at Patterns nightclub, with all ticket sales going to Same Sky to help fund Burning the Clocks. After-party guests can expect music and entertainment from local radio station Juice 107.2, international DJ Russ Dewbury and Lakuta, a UK-based jazz, funk and soul collective – fronted by vocalist Siggi Mwasote. A selection of the parade’s samba bands and artists will also perform. Taking place from 8.15pm on Wednesday (December 21), early birds tickets are available to buy for £5, or £10 on the door. Guy Lloyd drive time presenter at Juice 107.2, said: “An after party is just what Burning the Clocks has been missing. Join us at Patterns after the fireworks, to mark the end of the parade with a warm drink, some great music and a little bit of Same Sky magic.” The after-party would not have been possible, Same Sky said, without the support of Brighton-based Indian restaurant The Chilli Pickle, which sponsored Burning the Clocks and the after-party. To mark Chilli Pickle’s support for the Burning the Clocks’ official after party, a five by two metre mobile comet ‘Harbinger’ delivered lanterns to The Chilli Pickle. Dawn Sperring, co-owner of The Chilli Pickle, said: “We’re delighted to be the official restaurant partner for Burning the Clocks 2016 and can’t wait to be a part of their first ever after party. With over 20,000 people expected for the annual Burning the Clocks event but only 200 tickets available for the official after party, these tickets are likely to sell fast.” Taking place from 6.30pm on Wednesday from New Road, the Burning the Clocks parade runs from the Brighton Dome to the seafront, and will feature around 2,000 participants and attracts more than 20,000 onlookers.
