Littlehampton students’ wacky day of fun
Hundreds of children from Shakespeare Chapter at The Littlehampton Academy took part in the charity week – which finished with a fête on Friday (May 9) – raising almost £1,200 for the air ambulance service.
Students from years-eight to 11 joined in with a range of wacky fundraising ideas from a fancy dress day and splat the rat session to a beat the goalie.

Heather French, Shakespeare Chapter’s manager, said the charity week had been a fantastic success and managed to beat last year’s impressive total.
Ms French said: “The most popular stall was arguably the soak the teacher one.
“We are pleased to announce we raised a whopping £1,157 in total from the week, beating last year’s amount of £822.”

She said: “As a charity, we rely almost entirely on public donations so we are enormously grateful to The Littlehampton Academy for its support.”
The service has attended 821 call-outs this year with each mission costing about £2,500.
Ms French wished to thank all the businesses which gave donations to support the raffle.
